New Moon in Aquarius =Year of the Rabbit

Well… here we are at the actual New Year start. This is a big week as Mercury joins Mars in stationing direct and the New Moon in Aquarius brings in Chinese New Year. Where I live in Northern California we are just today sloshing out of the wettest two weeks in a very long time. Feels like an appropriate welcome to the Water Rabbit. This week is largely a zone of changing tides, with the two planets that most affect our activity and communication, in the process of regaining their normal footing, speed and trajectory. Take it slow but allow for the New Moon at the end of the week to really fill you up and allow the current of 2023 to take you forward. ————— Monday January 16 Today the Scorpio Moon makes a t-square with Venus & Uranus, adding much electricity to the ongoing, smoldering vibe of the last few days. It also makes a tense square to Saturn, possibly dredging up old survival fears. Spontaneous and intense desire impulses are more likely to be acted upon under this astro-weather. Tuesday January 17 Morning starts out very gothic as the Scorpio Moon passes through a sextile w the Sun & Pluto before bursting upwards and outwards into Jupiter ruled Sag. This is day five of Mars station direct, and he interestingly sits at an exact inconjunct with stationing Mercury- about to station direct. Super intense pent up messages, anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Wednesday January 18 Mercury station direct at 8° 8 minutes at 5:12am this morning, west coast time. Today (a Mercury day) also hosts the annual Sun conjunct Pluto encounter. So this is what Mercury is the messenger for: Mars & Pluto things. What are Mars Pluto things? Powerful impulses from the beast within. How can you allow the best expression vs repression (which will backfire eventually), but not let it grab the wheel. How very resonant with the current South Node in Scorpio who coincidentally is sextiled by Rx Mercury as he changes his direction once again. Thank god at least the Moon is in Sag! We’ll take that levity. Thursday January 19 The Sag Moon makes a sextile to Venus & Saturn in Aquarius on her way into Cap. This is a Dark Moon day, on the way to a new one, but things feel spacious and light, with a settling into more serious tone once the Cap Moon begins. So use the day for both expansive thinking and getting aligned with any errant responsibilities that you’ve been ignoring. Friday January 20 Today the Sun enters Aquarius.; the anthropologist from another planet here to help us improve our collective game as a species. Hallmarks of Aquarius season are a undeniable need for authentic truth, brilliant out of the box thinking, and a strong resistance to being told what to do. No one is the boss of Aquarius. This signal of this archetype is about to be mega-boosted by Pluto for the next 20 years. Saturday January 21 We wake up to the monthly Moon visit with Pluto, leading directly into the Aquarius New Moon! This isn’t just any New Moon, it’s also Chinese New Year. This year we welcome in the Yin Black water Rabbit. The color of Yin Water is black. It is chilly rain, and cold water deep inside the land. Water is connected to wisdom, and introversion, yet can be gloomy and unmanageable. Yin Water is the the last element, which is between death and birth. Therefore, Yin Water is connected to reincarnation and memories. The sign of Yin Water Rabbit is a wet Rabbit in the cold rain. A leaf flowing on the small creek is a sign of traveling without a home. It's a challenge time to fight for the survival. In Chinese I-Ching, Water is connected to danger. Rabbits live underground, have amazing fertility, and can reproduce very quickly. Rabbits are cautious, kind, friendly, elegant, artistic, conservative, self-indulgent, and compassionate.May we navigate well this New Year, under the auspices of the Water Rabbit! Sunday January 22 Aquarius Moon trine Mars and square the Nodes. Mercury moves forward from his station degree at last, making a trine to the North Node, beginning the real new year. This year begins with Chinese New Year. It’s been a wet slow cold start, which makes the Black Water Rabbit feel right at home. Venus joins Saturn in Aquarius today emphasizing a serious need for clear agreements in partnering, as well as a need for freedom.

A Scorpio Moon joins Jupiter in the early degrees of the Mars signs today, which continues yesterday’s sexy vibes and takes it even deeper and more emotional. Desire is a strong motivator, and the Scorpio Moon takes us into our private longings while Jupiter in Aries thrusts us out into the whitewater of life. Get busy today!
