Equi-Nox: Harvest Tide

As we approach the Autumnal Equinox in the North (Vernal Equinox in the South),

it is a time to pause and reflect. The word equinox means equal-night (equi-equal nox-night) where the Day and the Night meet, and bow to each other.

It's a moment of equipoise before the Night gains the upper hand in the North.

This ladder spirals us all the way into Winter Solstice.

(Thomas Cooper Gotch (British, 1854-1931), " A Golden Dream")

The old word for the Autumnal Equinox is Mabon.

Mabon marks the mid-point of the harvest season (rather than being the first day of Autumn as is the common, modern, misconception).

It is when the Old Sun God dies, and rests in the arms of the Goddess.

It is a time to pause, and reflect on the year. The gains, the losses;

this is when we reap what we have sown.

Take the time to really be present with the harvest of this time in your life. You cannot ever come back to this time again, so really take the time and go in. Give thanks for the blessings, and the lessons, feel the feelings associated and let it be fuel and nourishment for the coming cycle.

The astrological chart of this equinox moment is revealing of what is to come.

AUTUMNAL EQUINOX

As the SUN enters LIBRA, the sign of relationships,

it is square JUNO and HYGIEIA, trine VENUS.

That’s a prescription for relationship health and the work required to keep it healthy.

Astrologer Steven Forrest says “all transits are essentially soul-contracts we signed with the universe… all transits are medicine” for what ails us.

“They always happen at the right time.. they arise to correct something,

to heal something.”

As JUPITER finishes up its year passage

of amplifying the heck out of LIBRA,

it's definitely going out with a bang,

as it opposes URANUS (again)

at the end of ARIES

(Pow).

MORE RELATIONSHIP WORK.

There is no time to be in denial,

or be checked out

or sweep things under the rug.

We need each other, and we need our relationship vehicles to be in good working order. Time to upgrade our operating systems.

The next couple of years leading up to the intense astrology of 2020 don’t leave a lot of room for frivolity. We need to be very solid in ourselves and in our relationships. This astrology is like shaking the snow globe. STIR IT UP in order to see what is revealed, that needs to be healed. May it be so.

We are still fresh off the CHIRON opposition of the NEW MOON in VIRGO

that did the surgically precise work of revealing the wounds.

Once seen and felt, then the healing can begin. It’s not easy, but it's what we came here to do.

Now with the Equinox we are asked to continue doing the work.

As a way of managing our lives in a healthy way, we can now be extra vigilant in keeping away any draining or depleting, energy or people.

This signature can produce some delusional love interests, or financial opportunities. If you meet anybody new at this time, be sure to slide your rose colored glasses down your nose for just a moment and see if this a good, healthy, choice or opportunity.

If it seems to good to be true, it probably is. If need be, cut it loose.

(John Atkinson Grimshaw - Whitby Harbour by Moonlight, 1862)

Happiest of harvest to you! May your journey through the delicious buffer seasons of Autumn (Spring in South) provide you with rich enjoyment of your senses.
