Full Lammas Moon in Aquarius
(You can find S hemisphere at bottom of page) Well the Venus Rx is certainly underway, and this month will host most of her retrograde journey, including her synodic reboot with the Sun, also called cazimi. As this one kicked off at the tip of a yod, and the South Node is in Venus ruled Libra, this retrograde star-point means business. In my own life, with my natal Venus in Leo, I've already experienced several adjustments. It's best to just take the bull by the horns and let this transit have its way with you, as old detritus is getting cleared out of our relationship field. Some relationships may end but all are getting a makeover of some sort, as is the purpose of these biennial transits. There are four retrogrades right now, creating a sensation of swimming against the current, but we are building strength because of it. Mercury has moved into Virgo, and is now heading to oppose Saturn in Pisces this week. Get really clear and precise with your words in order to not bump into the hard walls of this opposition. The Full Moon in Aquarius is always big. The water bearer brings not just the waters of humanity, but energy frequency tuning and electrical upgrades. This is a gateway Moon, flanked by Lions and Humans (Aquarius is the sign of āmanā) This is a time to repair broken friendships, and to connect to your tribe. Aquarius is the sign of the future and that happens to be where we are headed. The Age of Aquarius is when we can no longer go it alone. We must find our people and learn to work together. But the Sun in Leo reminds us that we are not losing ourselves into the group, rather each person needs to keep doing their own work to shine as brightly as they can, so that our clans are a milky way of stars, helping us to see our way into the future. This is an extra special Full Moon as it coincides with Lammas or Lughnasadh, a celtic cross-quarter fire festival that celebrates the earliest first harvest and opens the doorway into Autumn in the North. It is the polarity to Imbolc or Candlemas which is the February 1 entrance into Springtime. Thus it is Imbolc for you Southern Hemisphere folk. I love this cross-quarter axis the most. Celebrate Lammas (which means loaf-mas) by gathering things that represent the coming of Autumn, such as wheat stalks, corn, berries, and pumpkins, and celebrate Imbolc by gathering things that represent the coming spring, such as snowdrops and candles. These festivals go back into time immemorial and we are linked to our ancestors as we celebrate them. āRural people believed the Harvest Spirit dwelt in the fields, and that as the reapers cut the corn the spirit was forced to retreat into the ever-dwindling remainder. No man wished to be the one who destroyed her refuge, so the reapers took their turns to throw their sickles at the last stand of corn. It was then plaited in to a womanās form ā known as the corn-dolly or kern-baby ā which represented the Harvest Spirit. This astrology says breakups and breakthroughs are equally likely. If you get into trouble, don't let the Aquarius Moon tempt you into checking out. Stay connected to your heart. TRy and have your heart and mind work together. As the Moon & Venus both t-square Uranus, the big message is that your relationships need and want to be ungraded. Any that refuse may not succeed past this Venus rx. As the Moon trines the karmic South Node, the Dragonās tail will help this process by sweeping away old stagnant patterns. Now we tune into the overstory work we are all engaged in for the next two years, of bringing a serious approach to manifesting our dreams out in the real world. As the North Node trines Venus we are given glimmers of what it could be like if we are willing to do the work required to restore relationship balance.
